The Egyptian historian of the 14th century Al-A’yni wrote in his work «Ikdu al-dzhuman fi-t-tarih ahl al-azman» that Baybars ibn Abdulla was Kypchak by origin. And according to An-Nuvayri, Baybars was a Turk and came from Kypchak tribe Elborili.

Baybars had been on throne for 17 years (from 1260 to 1277). Egypt became a potent power during his reign period.
